Caution (2016)
Acrylic on board diptych – each panel 60x 90cm
This work in the series of diptychs further explores the middle ground between representation and abstraction. The work is clearly influenced by Jeffrey Smart as well as some of the earlier pop artists. The diptych format enhances the story-telling aspect. The left panel depicts a solid barrier and a sign advising the viewer to be careful. In contrast the right panel explodes the barrier and thus throws caution to the wind.
