The garden on the south side of the Wollongong Central shopping mall features hexagonal prisms that are reminiscent of columnar jointed basalt or rhyolite which can be found on the south coast. I have oversaturated the colours in photoshop which resulted in the purple and magenta shades as well as the other 'accidents'.
Grateful thanks to the GPT Group who manage the facility and to the architects, HDR Rice Daubney, for the inspiration.
